Ok I think I'll call this one finished. Learned a lot from this especially about texturing and lighting. There’s still some issues with the light leeks but I think I reduced it quite a lot compared to before and its not that noticeable. I also fixed the window glass, added some trees and adjusted the curtains. I tried adding in the light rays first using volumes but it took forever to render and then I tried using a spot light with fog but it didn't look convincing thus I left it out.
I might do a little camera move render thingy for the folio. Overall I'm happy with this ![]() |

Nice result man!! A little tip for the light rays- render it as a separate layer (put a black, no reflective material on everything= thus volume light will render much faster) and then composite it in PS or some other software.

Thnx guys, sorry for late reply
Its been over a week since I last updated this. I've been busy doing a little web based advertisements and compositing for a company to bring in a bit of $$. Unfortunately not 3D related but every bit of experience helps, unfortunately very little time to do 3D then.Anyways I want to learn a bit about Syntheyes, so I thought I might do a basic 3D track and incorporate a model into it. I've been quickly blocking out this Star Wars speeder thing to incorporate into the scene. That’s all I've had time for so far. Image ref: ![]() |

Don't forget to add a slight bevel onto the base of the cylindrical parts portruding from the flat bits, to add more realism to the legos

thnx needse, yeah I'm looking for something a little more complex though, mainly manual tracking and cleaning up shaky film etc.
One of the comments gave me a chuckle though ![]() |

Hey, those Legos are looking good.
If you're wondering about the measurements, I always use the ones given in this tutorial: http://www.3dtotal.com/index_tutoria...7#.T_vYHJK0N2A They're correct by the way. I bought a caliper a while back and measured some Lego pieces, and it all's accurate.

Been chilling for the past few weeks, trying to recover but I'm going to start another big project soon, so it will be fun.
![]() Tried using zbrush today, I'm quite a newbie to it though I have touched it a little before. I need to start a organic sketchbook but for now I will leave this here. Also what brushes are there to add fine details to a face like skin pores?? |
