New VRay 3Ds Max & Maya Material Database

Hi guys,

We've recently launched a new VRay materials database for 3Ds Max and Maya.
So far we have a few free downloads on the site and are adding more constantly.

We are working on adding user upload support for others to upload their own materials to help build the database.
There just aren't enough places out there that actually provide free material downloads for VRay, (especially for Maya).

We would like to hear your thoughts on this new site and wether you would use this new database to download and upload your materials (when the upload function is working).?

Any feedback would be great.
Check out the site - render-box.co.uk/downloads/vray-materials/

Thanks

They were created with Max 2013, alongwith VRay 2 but they should work in all previous versions of Max + VRay.

I'v been using Max since Max 8 and have used the same material files over and over in different versions with no problem.

That may be because some of the files are for 3Ds Max & some are for Maya.
Can I ask which file you downloaded.?

All files are named either "Max" or "Maya".

I'm afraid the problem is that your using an older version of Max.
I've just tested some of the materials in the oldest version of Max I have installed (Max 2010) and I have the same errors.

What I can do is go back re-save and export the materials in Max 2010 so all materials will be compatable from 2010 forwards. Unfortunatly I don't have my old Max 8 still installed so am unable to backsave them that far.

Many thanks for bringing that issue up to us though and we will definatly look to update the materials to an older version asap. : )

Hey guys,

Just wondering if there was any feedback out there towards the ease of use of the website/content/ design or anything really.?

Cheers.!
