Sketchup clean exports
Hi! Im a programmer and Im trying to make some simple 3d models using sketchup.
I managed to make a robot, but once I export it into the game engine (Unity 3D), I get some irregularities in the mesh. I get the same irregularities in sketchup too. Here is an example: http://postimage.org/image/c3k60dlnn/ Do you know how to fix this? Ty for your time. |

I think this problem is about unwelded verts
Most problems with scetchup are unwelded verts, flipped polys and bad triangulation.. From scetchup i don't think you can solve this.. Since you have no control on tour mesh to correct these things I suggest learning a modelling software like modo/max/maya/... If it's for use in unity you'll have soo much more options |

well the probelm is in sketchup it self. it is sort of a cad software that is so terible you can only use it when you dont need to edit or operate your mesh out of it. i suggest you to use blender. max, maya, modo ..... are a expencive chioses to begin with, but blender is completeley free and is kind of user friendly so its realy a good choise. as for unity - if you have unity and blender in one machine you dont need to export your models - unity understands blenders working files when you have them both in one box
