What does this shadowing mean?
I am not sure if this is just shadowing, or if it is incorrect vertex placement (?)
But I am curious as to whether this is supposed to occur when modelling..should I get rid of it? If so, how? Thank you very much. ![]() |

it just means that the surface of your polygon is not perfectly flat. Just make a box, take one vertex and push it in one axis direction perpendicular to the surface - you will get the same thing.
it won't cause you problems, especially with turbosmooth on top of your stack |

You could smooth the faces if you aren't going to sub-divide and that should make it look a little better and it is exactly as rocneasta says
