I kept on following this SMC, and I just had to participate. It is a nice topic and there are a lot of options for modeling. I chose the Coke bottle because, it is one of my favorite drinks, and I just happened to have one on my desk.
For modeling I also made use of bump and normal maps, which speeded up my modeling time, so I could finish faster. Normal/Bump maps are the dents and drops on the bottle itself, and the riffles on the cap. All in all it was very fun to model, but I had definitely more fun while lighting and shading. Is lighting and shading actually also considered when choosing the finalists? @CG? Best of luck to all of you. |

Very good render! Bottle could be slightly thicker cos we hardly see it near the top.
And to answer your question, you're only judged on your modelling skills.

Hey!
Thought this was a cool SMC and I needed a break from my final year project anyway! Took bang on 90 min to model yet I have wasted the whole day lighting and shading! :/ Anyway enjoy, If different angle close-ups are required let me know.

ha ha nice one! You need to post wires and modelling time.
ps: get a higher res for the sticker and it will look much better, although render is not rated.

These entries are fantastic! The model and the way it's created, complexity, and wireframes are taken into consideration when judging nothing else. Although there's been some exceptionally good beauty shots
![]() Apologies for not being online sooner but my ISP is really taking the p1ss at the moment and we've been getting less than dialup speeds for the last 4 days ![]()
