@ Cordero - nope, only the separate layers i added, while creating the texture
@ kirgan - thx, imo without the texture it looked a bit too plain @ Forn - nice start! i suggest you to use more vivid colors, more gradients in the textures, stronger shadows. look up Tyson Murphy's or Firtskeeper's awsome arts to see what i mean. and there are no rules here, you can do whatever you like, don't worry! the best is if it's about texturing improvement. |

HOLY ****!
I'm really impressed by all the textures on this thread. I come from a more AAA background and therefore I rely mainly on AO and Cavity passes (from Zbrush hipoly) to make my diffuse textures, and the beauty of the models is usually all about the normal maps. In the end it looks more realistic, but it just doesn't have this nice cartoon/comic book feeling to it. Do you guys have any good tutorials on hand painted textures? I'd really like to get into it seriously. Thanks ![]() |

**** me I couldn't give critique on this - I love it!
Perhaps just to dim the metal "reflection" so it won't stand out as much |

You could do with more colour variation between the grey stone walls and the grey tiled roof as it all blends together right now

Awesome dude! The textures are great. I also like the mystical feeling. You always know how to pick your colors.
I guess it's made from tileable textures, right? Some AO on textures would make it awesome (eer?), but I understand it's impossible, right? What engine are you using to view this thing?
