The best 3ds Max version for visualization
I've been visualizing the interiors in 3ds Max 2009. Which 3ds Max version do you use? Is 2013 version better? Should I switch to it?

I was never one that liked odd number versions, always used even number versions. I beta tested both versions you are mentioning and I can't say that one had a huge difference over the other. But 2012 did mark major changed within the viewport, Nvidia collaboration, mass fx, etc.
Not sure what you mainly do in 3ds max, but due to better response and working environment there is no need not to upgrade. FEATURES |

2012 is stable and has better viewport performance than 2009. also, undo mostly works
![]() wouldn't touch 2010,2011 with a bargepole 2013 is still buggy . wait for service packs |

Thank's for your replies and advice! I suppose the next project I will do in 2012. I have watched videos about the work of viewport in 2012. Yeah, it's awesome!
karyaali, you use Design version 3dmax 2012. Can you explain, why you chose it but not the usual 3dmax 2012? Which useful tips can you give? |

there aren't any tips - Design has the light analysis thing plus materials are by default set to A&D and render is by default set to mental ray. No other differences exist

Thanks. But I don't think I will need light analysis thing and A&D materials, 'cause I use Vray
I suppose I have made up my mind and will do the next project in 2012. |
