yep indeedy we are relying on your honesty........plus in the old SMC's it was all about if an employer gave you an hour or two to make a concept/model and if you really took 4 hours you'd lose the job. So you're lying to yourself if you cheat.
Simple as that ![]()

Are you allowed to use a sculpting tool such as ZBrush or Mudbox during your modeling phase?

TNT, I think we talked about this time ago, and if I remember well, it is not allowed because this is a modelling contest, and there is a sculpting challenge for zbrushing.
So we have to model as we want (box modelling, edge extruding, sub-d, nurbs... as you may want/need) but not sculpting. Let's wait for CG to confirm that but I think that was the conclusion. Btw, I think it was also asked (maybe even by me XD, damn alzheimer) but, if we make a pedestal for our model, has it to be included in the time modelling? |

Everything in your scene has to be modelled from scratch unless you state a pedestal was modelled separatly, then you would need to exclude any geometry from your wireframes.
As for sculpting if you really need to it, use it in less than 10% of your model/scene the majority of your model should be created traditionally with the usual modelling toolset. |

I find it funny that, most are really just interested in the t-shirts.

Well, actually we have been in this comps for a loooong time, and people realize this is really for fun and practising, and of course learning from ourselves and from our mates. Also with the time you know better your mates and it is an opportunity to make fun and friends. We all like this forum, and win a t-shirt and proudly wear it is sooo great!
Of course the inclusion of podium prizes was a great strategy, because that brought life to the comps, they are great, and it is nice to win some, but that is a secondary objective for most of us, I think. |
