Mudbox 2012 - Hide/Unhide Issue
Ok, I am having some trouble and I would like to ask for help. I'm having an occasional issue where I hide all the objects in the scene except for 1 so that I can work on it isolated. But when I finish and go to unhide everything else, nothing unhides, even with repeated attempts. The geometry is still in the object list but ticking/unticking hide is not doing anything. It is frustrating because I spend up to 45 minutes on an object only to realize that now I can't save that file because the other objects are gone. If anyone has had this problem, or knows a fix, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

when you save, you are saving out copies right? Try freezing the object you want to work on, then select the rest, hide. Then unfreeze and get busy.
or What I would do is, save the file. Then open it. See if it works. Also, if this is a game model, go ahead and sculpt each piece seperately. Make your normal maps, then bring them back together in photoshop, later. |

Yes, I save out copies so I don't lose some of the work. I will try freezing the work and then hiding the others. Also, I do have all of the objects separated.
http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread...=108651&page=3 The above link is what I am working on. My plan was to keep the pieces separate and stitch them together again in PS. Next time it happens, I'll save a duplicate and re-open, but I noticed that not only are they not reappearing, but the total poly count on the bottom says the poly count is dropped from them too. It's weird, it's like everything about them is gone except for their name in the object list. Thanks for your help. Will try what you suggested and get back to you. Thanks! |
