Drawing a line

Hi guys...

This is a very and i do mean very simple question. I've been using Max for a year or so but i've just moved over to Maya and i can't seem to figure out how to do the following.

If i draw a curve in Max i can easly add a few vertex and add a little indent into the curve but i cant seem to figure out how to do it in maya.

Please can someone let me know how to do this

Cheers Mike....

Hehe..........you are really getting freaked with this? i know!
same thing with me......i almost got mad, like it sucks, in max its really easy , but in maya they do it everything the opposite way.
A in max Z in maya :P
ne way here is what to do

i assume you have a curve made with the EP Curve tool.(third icon in the Curve Tab)
Draw your curve.
There is a last button on the same Curve tab,(Curve Editing Tool)
First select the curve then click on this button.
the mouse pointer should change.
click on the curve where u want to add a point(it wont add but you can do your stuff) a funny little gizmo will appear, and the move it with your mouse.

Also to move around the points , u need to right click pressed until the menus appear and choose the subobject, like Control vertix or Control point etc. and the it will go in the subobject level.

Another way to permanently add point is:

select the curve and go in the CURVE POINT mode
Click on the insert KNOT button, 8th button from the left, in the curve tab.
click on where u want the point. a yellow box will appear, adjust as u please
then in the menus at the top
EDIT curves> Insert Knot
the yellow thing will go away and then u can go in the EDIT POINT mode and od what u please with the point u created

also play with the "CURVE editing tool".

hope this helps
