Signed Language Gaming Project

Hi, I want to show you my game project...
It is an adventur game. In this game, you will meet some avatars who are deaf. You will need to learn the LSF (french signed language) to continue the game and resolving the story...

here is a picture.

Thanks for c&c

That's an awesome concept. But I would fix up the character, looks a little rough around the edges. Maybe make it more cartoony and rounder...it's always more fun to learn with those kind of "friendly"-looking characters. Not that yours isn't friendly. Tell us more aboiut the game and how it works. And maybe post a pic of the characters signing?

I would say the hands are too big, but since this *is* a signing project, that's just what you need prolly. I'm not an expert in lighting so I can't help you with that. I tend to say the opposite of whatever others say. Well, in my *cough* expert opinion, I would make the scenes happy and have lots of light to make it a "learning game". I never played a learning game that tried to kill you or that had dramatic lighting.

I can understand "epicerie"! Uh, je parle francais un peu...hehe that's the extent of my French. Four years and still going...and no future for me in foreign language! All I ever say is "Que veut dire..."

Hands are big because i wanted it big... to make fluid fingers animations... Also, we can read the sign better.

Anyway, thanx for c&c.

About lighting, i'm going to put one light more, maybe it could be better.

I'd add a couple of trees or something to the 2nd scene b/c it's seems a little empty in comparison to the rest of your scenes.

It is empty because it is the beach, on the other side, there is the sea, and, i am agree with you, we could had some coconuts tree or something like that, it would'nt be hard to do.

anyway, thanx for critics.

Any other comments ?

Very cool.

I would say that this game would look even nicer if it was celshaded.

Either way, it rocks.

These chars look like they're from Kentucky! The teeth, the teeth!! I know, I'm from KY, so trust me.. they look redneckish, maybe even hillbillyish.

Hello,

Jared, i had the same opinion since few days... So i've made a test on one character (Fred). you will see on this picture. The picture is a view from Maya, it is the realtime version.

Hi IDownupI, there is a long time... Well, no Beta for the moment... We had to finish the coding part, with the communication module before... Maybe in november !

RionMcCloud, These Characters are not from Kentucky, they are from France. As you maybe now, french people have art sensibility, they are the best lovers in the world, also, they all know other languages like english, german or spanish... Nothing like redneck !
