I actually like the pale look of the character in the non-rendered shot above. It makes more sense than a tanned person, seeing the effects of the sun, etc cut out.

I'm gonna take a little break from animating before it bores out and work modelling on the environments and characters that are in the later scenes. Ill start with the city like prison where the the humans are taken after their enslaved by the currently unknown enemy (haven't got the name for em yet). I'm imaging a very futuristic city, driven by slave-labor... I want it to look a bit like killzone3 and like the image below. (art-work by Gobboking... not me)

Actually this gets boring and irritating at times but Iv come too far to stop now... good thing is I get to work on different types of character and environment so it feels fresh every once in a while, especially when work on new scenes that look different from the old.

I'm about to start creating some new sub-characters for the next few scenes... just gathering ref and ideas right now but they should look something like the ones in the last image I posted.

I'm worried that they might look better than the main character though, I think i've learned a lot of new modeling and texturing techniques since I created her, but the main character will be a bit older later on so I'll still get to change her a bit,.. or maybe a lot.

I guess one of the main problems with doing large projects is that u learn so much that the stuff u did at the start of the project is no good and then u want to always fix stuff lol.

Little update, been working on a new character for some of the later scenes, her costume is different because she'll appear in a totally different environment from the ones iv built so far, its a work suit for a slave camp.
I'm working on the costume right now but I'll fix some texture & geometry issues on the body later.

I'm starting to dig hard surface modeling in max, zbrush is easier but max gives full control long as you know your tools...
