I'd make the guitar body a bit rounder but other than that, it's looking good. UVs, always an immense pleasure. glhf

As McFly said i would only change the guitar a bit.. maybe giving more shapes to these parts(see picture attached).http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=9km7mv&s=5 Last edited by Redbagy; 07-02-2012 at 01:56 PM.. Reason: Pasting Picture Link |

Ok thnx guys, will look into improving the guitar.
I haven’t managed to start the UV mapping yet. At the moment all I'm doing is cleaning up the objects (deleting faces), renaming and grouping objects so that the scene will be a bit more manageable when it comes to texturing. Did something a bit different today, I had an old character bust lying around and it looked a bit boring so I decided to slap it on a background and do some Photoshop retouching. Hope u like ![]() |

Thanks guys for the positive comments
![]() The robot was a project I did a few months back for a university assignment. I only had 3 weeks to concept the whole thing and then model it. Since I was quite limited by time, I didn't have time to texture it in 3D and so I ended up doing the texture details, like scratches and dirt in photoshop... That would explain the single viewing angle. I was inspired by Vitaly Bulgarov's amazing character busts. I noticed that the subdivisions are too low on the pedestal hahaha |

Just an update to show I'm still working on this. I've managed to unwrap the uv's but still need to lay them out and scale them etc, almost at the texturing stage. My goal is to get this whole project done by the 27th!! because after that I will have very little time. Fingers crossed

Ok an update. Started texturing today
![]() It’s my first attempt at using a 3dpainting program (mudbox) took a few frustrating goes to get it right but finally managed to get something I relatively happy with. Stuck the radio into MR and gave it a quick render, shaders are just the standard phong, blin shaders etc. Don't think I will use the mental ray shaders for this one because It will just be too time consuming fiddling with all the settings. Uni is about to start for me in a couple of days so I won't have time to work on this much, so progress might slow down a bit. Will not drop this project though ![]() C&C welcome... shaders aren’t final at this stage. handle needs a bit more dirt i thinks Last edited by astroAJ; 22-02-2012 at 08:32 AM.. Reason: :D |
