You definitely got the Borderlands look going on. Already made that association with the Uber Gun 2.0.

Space ship for project, done in 2 evenings. Deadline is fast approaching and I'm going insane lol. Just a Mudbox screen for now.

When I mean evening I mean long evening so total about 10hrs for the lot, modelling, texturing, uv mapping. It feels rushed and I don't like the design but I wanted to merge the designs I had drawn up earlier into something a bit more recognisable as a traditional spaceship. Making this felt like the ultimate SMC lol but it taught me some valuable lessons and I'm not out of the deep end yet with this assignment ;_;

Well honestly i haven't tried anything closely project wise to your spaceship, but for now i can say really nice especially given the fact the amount of man hours you put into it. |

Very nice fluid and smooth landing animation matey, looks really great, how's your system holding up animating with all that in the scene?

Maya's starting to struggle a bit and there's nothing I can do about it because Maya's viewport sucks and it has issues with my GTX460 GC, the scenes is only about 1.5mill polys and animating at about 30-35fps.
Times literally disappearing before my eyes and I only have a few weeks left to get this finished. I originally was going to have a fully textured scene with amazing details etc but it’s not a realistic goal and my tutor is especially worried that I'm not going to get this finished. I think my best approach will be to paint over the scene in PS then layer the animating spaceship on top. This should cut down rendering and texturing time and it's the only real way I see this getting finished in time 0.o Good or bad idea?? Last edited by astroAJ; 12-04-2012 at 04:34 PM.. |

yeah good idea if you do that you could make it a large render (larger than final output ) and you could fake a camera move in AE so it doesn't look static
