never used final cut but AE is pretty similar to PS but for video etc plus youve got videocopilot to teach you how to use it

Simply put it's as most things on mac user friendly and gets the job done the way you want it. Doesn't take much getting used to, and have numerous effects to choose from and create. But main thing is that it's video editor first effects second. And if you wanna play with it, don't get the latest version cause almost every professional out there, even Apple Master trainers ran away from it |

probably the last clay render I'll do for now. Didn't smooth some of the object. Now onto slapping some shaders onto this thing and figuring out the lighting -_-

looking really complex, i hope you just modeled the basic shape then copied details on the surface. Any chance you will add some detail to the building it self, behind the door- Looks a bit out of place, when compared to the highly detailed landing pad.

Most of the objects have been instanced to speed things up, it would have taken forever to model each one lol. I would like to add more detail to the building but I'm running out of time so I might have to add some extra details in PS when I do the paint over.

Thnx guys for the comments there always good motivation
![]() I've done a quick dirty UV mapping so I can apply some base textures. I'm not very good at procedural shading so I figured it would be faster for me to do UV's. Tried fiddling around with lighting but realising that it is very difficult to get a bladerunner look in fact its dam hard. My lighting skills may damage the rest of the piece so I'm trying to figure out an alternative which maybe is to go for a sunset mood... but this would go against my original concept. ![]() |

tut here = http://www.digitalurban.org/2008/03/...cityscape.html just follow that then whack in some futurist type building inbetween specular highlights will pop nice if the scene is darker to would have to be super detailed by the time you got some fog and dof in you wont notice as much Last edited by needse; 17-04-2012 at 12:57 PM.. |
