This is coming along really nice.

Although I did prefer the blue fog. The red makes it look like something from the depths of hell, while the blue made me think of the Alien movies (and I prefer Aliens over hell :P).

I'm not saying the red is bad though, just expressing my opinion.

Here's a proper (reasonably) Hi-Res render of the scene.
This took about an hour to render with DOF and everything.
I tell you I am dreading the render time of the final flythrough.

Well the core breaking effect looks kinda rubbish, so ill need to fix that.
But other than that the rest of it is looking ok i think

Well after rendering 622 frames and wasting about 36 hours of time my PC decided to crash.

So im rendering them out in blocks of 1000, but stepping out every second frame.
Hopefully this will help it to go a bit faster.

I take it you are rendering out an image sequence? If not, that would sort of avert the crashing problem, since all the images rendered out shouldn't get lost if the pc crashes.

Yeh its set to render them as a sequence then make them into an AVI.
Though I think asking it to do well over 1000 frames at once is probably what made it crash.

And it crashed again today even though I only asked for 500 frames.
So Im just going to resume it and stitch the frames together in Avidemux.

Just a quick test render.
Managed to (hopefully) fix the crashing issues.
Some problems with it tho.
I forgot to turn on the fluids when rendering the first part :\
Also I need to play about with codecs because finding a good AVI one is proving hard. Therefore the quality isnt great :\
