render time
how much does cpu/memory affect rendering times in 3ds max. i need to render out a scene for a uni project but it takes like 5 hours. I have tried twice both resulting in the video freezing half way through. is it something in my scene thats causing this or is it my poor laptop.

render to *.jpg or *.tga, and CPU is used to the max, along with ram it can allocate to 3dsmax. Btw 5 hours is not much to wait for an animation - http://vimeo.com/31861085 i did this for a client - took me 6 hours to render, 20 min to make and encode the movie in FCP
