Hey guys,
Its been a long time, 2 and 1/2 years to be exact since I upgraded my system. My system currently needs an upgrade I feel. My config is as follows Intel Quad core 9400, ATI Radeon 4870 512 MB, 4GB ddr3 RAM, 500GB hard disk. I am basically looking at a good processor and a graphics card, also adding some RAM to boost its rendering especially Vray. What do you guys suggest? I have an eye on the i7 2600 processor and the Nvidia GTX 560Ti.! The cost factor is bugging me as I need a motherboard which accomodates both of this.! My budget would come to around 1520$. I plan on reusing Monitor, keyboard, UPS mouse and 4gigs of RAM, so any suggestions with the config would be helpful. Thanks. ![]() |

560 ti is a good card,
i7s are very capable you'll want more ram than that though and you probably can't re-use the same ram in an i7 motherboard (not 100% on that ) |

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought of that and I am probably going to dump my old RAM and buy new ones.
Any more suggestions from 3dtotal members.? |

well, I made this thread to show off our riggs, but it turned into a get this not that thread.
In total, I spent about $1200, american. That includes the i7, 16gigs of ram, motherboard, liquid cooler and case. |

Make sure u buy a good case and a good heat sink fan for rendering the default one isn't adequate
Try to get RAM that’s 1600mhz, 1333mhz is being phased out now. Buy multiple hard drives with a RAID set up so that if one breaks u still have ur data ![]() I’ve always been a bif Fan of Gigabyte Mother boards and they’ve never screwed up. U get what u pay for ![]() |

Thanks for the replies. So, it would mean that a lot of RAM, a good processor like the i7 and a decent graphics card like the 560ti would be a good config. for my budget.?
