will try to avoid it next time and run in circles to really measure my timing - only pain is in gluteus maximus from all the sitting while riding |

Nice job mate, sound good.
I was at the gym, and did 6,5km in 58min on the treadmill. It was way better than yesterdays try. I think it was the pollens fault yesterday. Because today the only thing that stopped me was closing time, and a sore ancle. But il be back tomorrow hopefully doing the full 10km.

the treadmill is neat cause it almost a sterile environment, no sexy ladies running in the opposite direction so you have to slow down, no wind, no traffic, no bikes kamikazing your way etc. Nice job, take care of that ankle before tomorrow

Protip for jogging (and this actually works):
if you´re getting pain in your sides while jogging (especially the right side) you should really focus on how you're breathing. Because, by some reason, we all tend to have a rhythm where we exhale at the same time step with the right foot. This puts pressure onto the liver and lungs (dunno how true that part is tohugh but bear with me) which causes the pain and afterwards shortness of breath. So solution : be focused on the rhythm of your breathing, and switch between when you step and exhale. First when stepping with the left, then when stepping with the right. At first it doesn't fit the rhythm you´re used to, but you'll be able to run for longer periods. At least a bunch, helped me when I went out for my runs back in the day before I got bored with it ![]()

Never knew this. All i knew was that there is like a thing that helps your lungs shrink, and if you breathe shallow you are basically breathing more rapidly, the aforesaid thing moves quicker than normal and causes stress pain at the sides

basicly a pain in the sides means : you are breathing wrong or you have taken too much for this time.
so been going to the gym two times this weak and both times got my a$$ kicked by 120kg MMA fighter - all my bones and muscles are in pain. but this feals wonderfull. cant wait for my working hours to end so i could go to gym again . |

I used to ride biketrials, bmx and take a fixie out for ten mile sprints all the time but kids and moving to the country kind of knackered that so I slacked off for the last 3
I got back on the fixie bike a month or so back having bought myself some proper cleats and have been doing ten mile sprints a couple times a week, chucking some small weights around for a while after work and doing some yogas. It's done me the world of good - mentally as well as physically. and yeah - as the man says keep your breathing deep and regular and you can go for much longer. what's this endmondgonmogo business about ? a few of my "senior" facebook friends are using it to record their walking |
