My Witch Doctor's called Heubert
![]() Finished it on Normal with him, and am slowly playing it again as a Barb (Act 2) Next it'll be the wizard, since neither the Monk nor the Demon Hunter appeal to me.

I've played Diablo 3 around 200 hours and have gone through most of what the game is about I'd think. Here be my impressions!
I'm a hardcore player. As in I play in hardcore mode. When you die, you die etc. I think the game is a lot more fun that way, but I (painfully) understand why it doesn't appeal to everyone. Launch was a mess, but anyone who has played WoW understands that and doesn't let it ruin the explerience. Anyway, I really liked playing my wizards. The first one died on level 54, the second one died on lvl 57, both avoidable mistakes. I took took a monk to lvl 48 in between my first two wizard attempts. He died also. Third time's the charm, my new wiz was ready for Inferno and I had a massive blast playing with my friends. I think, similar to progress raiding in WoW, Inferno multiplayer is what the game is all about. Coming up with a plan on how to kill that vortex-arcane-desecrate-jailer champion pack and go for it, and make it just barely alive, heart pounding from fear and excitement... It's a real thrill. But once the shakes wear off and you start inspecting the loot, the game just. Meh! As you probably know, stats are randomized. The gear needs a certain amount of some specific stats in order to not be completely useless, and the chance of getting an item which has either 1: the stats you need for your character or 2: the stats it needs to be worth anything on the auction house so you can sell it and buy items you need are extremely ridiculously heart breakingly slim We are talking under 0,1%. And this is where the game falls short. It's just not worth it. You can play for hours and not get a single item that has any value. The fact that you need to rely on the auction house is great when you're leveling up or starting out fresh on Inferno and need some quick gear. But past that point, it's leaning far more towards curse than blessing. I wish it wasn't in the game and I wish the game rewarded you with items so you could progress further at a stable rate, or at least some way to upgrade your existing items. But it doesn't. Also a lot of people complain about instability. I don't mind the always online deal. I think it's a great way to prevent piracy, and the seamless join-your-friends function is absolutely amazing. But at the same time lag is your worst enemy, especially in hardcore. I lost 60 barbarian which cost 51 hours of time and several million gold to gear up in act 2 inferno because the game thought I was standing in fire while on my computer I was running around several yards away. It was a lot of fun while it lasted though. I think the combat system and skill customization is great despite having to skill mostly defensive in hardcore. But once you start seeing that there's no real reward for anything it get's kinda boring. At least it did for me ![]() |

i think i stopped even before i started - the randomness of gearing up and preparing for certain parts of game, resistance wise, dps wise, is just a complete waste of time.
In RL or in game if i do something in most cases i know the outcome and am going for it. In DIII you just can never tell - hence my not logging in from after two weeks when the game started. |
