I'm really looking forward to see what UE4 can do. I just hope the next stream on consoles can use its features to the max, and not be hampered by the tech, because that would be a real shame for consoles that will most likely be around for another 10 years or so.

I want millions of floating particles to be viewable on the next Xbox and PS4. Not limited to hardware.

For something that is going to be there for 10 years or more, it better be damn powerful in my opinion

i want to see this in action and i'd like to know what kind of hardware this would need. if you need 2 gpu cards to run this, it's not something most people will be able to run. still, it looks impressive.

Ahh, Im rather hoping they release this with the next Unreal Tournament like they did with Unreal Engine 3, and 2 as a matter of fact.
Although now that they have UDK it'll be interesting to see if they just update UDK to use Unreal Engine 4.

Anywhoo, Im really looking forward to getting ahold of it.

If the interview with Tim Sweeney is to believed, the hardware under performs and Epic is lobbying for better hardware in the next gen consoles.

Quote:
For his part, though, Sweeney is a bit more diplomatic. “We’re much more in sync with the console makers than any other developer is,” he says. “That means we can give detailed recommendations with a complete understanding of what is going to be commercially possible.” In other words, Epic has seen the specs of proposed new consoles and is actively lobbying for them to be more powerful. It could be a bad sign for the industry if new, relatively underpowered consoles make an appearance at this year’s E3 consumer show (as is popularly rumored about Sony’s PS3 successor, the alleged specs of which leaked in April).

That is why red_oddity, that I hope Sony and Microsoft do something about it.
The hardware they are thinking of going with at the moment from what I've read is very old in terms of PC tech, and they want these new consoles to last 10 years or more?
