Maya 2011 x64 - Face/Vertex/Edge selection

I've recently been having a recurring problem on my home computer with Maya that doesn't allow me to select more than one face, edge or vertex. And even switching between selections individually requires multiple clicks. As you can imagine, it makes even manipulating a cube ridiculously tedious and difficult.

Has anyone else come across this problem, or know of a way to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

It might be worthwhile to delete your preferences folder. C:/users/~username~/ documents/maya/2011-x64/ directory. If you want, you can back it up by dragging the prefs folder to your desktop. Once maya is started again the preferences will be the defaults and hopefully the problem will be resolved.

You're welcome, glad I could help. Just remember that if anything weird is happening with maya it can usually be fixed by deleting the prefs folder.
