normal map problems

i want to render a normal map for my modell


ok my problem starts here:
i want to create an normal map of this objekt:


i select the lowpoly - go to render to texture - select normalmap and cage - i adjust the cage - and hit render
so far ok
but the result isnīt ok:


why there are so muche errors ?
here some additional pictures :



how can i prevent these "bumpy" errors ?


have soomthinggroups influence on the normalmap ?

Smoothing groups influence your normal map during the bake. The solution is generally to use supporting geometry to contain the normal smoothing (similar to how you would when using turbosmooth)

which version of max are you on ? you need to enable qualified normals on 2011 in order to synch the baker with viewport display.

There's too much to go into in one post but there is a big thread in the technical talk section on polycount that explains why this is happening and how to resolve it.

I can't link you as polycount is blocked at work (I know, I know...) but it's one of the stickies in technical talk.
