Planet Unwraping
http://www.3dm3.com/tutorials/planet/
How do I get the texture to appear on the geosphere? I can't get it right. Do I have to unwrap it? Because, I don't think it will work to well unwrapping, plus I'm not good at unwrapping. |

from the example that you've shown it looks like you could use UVW map - spherical or shrink wrap what ever you see more fitting. Not every part of the world will be seen if you don't want to unwrap it all.
or just try flatten mapping, and see what you get ![]() |

I've tired flatten mapping, but it just throws things every where. Sphere and shrink wrap does the same spiral at the top/bottom poles effect.

then the best bet would be to draw a seem and unwrap it according to that
but that's unwrapping ![]() |

I hate unwrapping
. I'm going to try to make a quadsphere. That might work, and make it easier at the top.Last edited by Shinamori; 20-06-2012 at 08:21 PM.. |

that could work, just a box with a spherify on top
![]() |
