Thnx
![]() I hope that I can post some more texture-updates soon. About the blueprints, I don't know where to get them (I've been searching for them too) The blueprints for this boat are from a book from the designer of these ship-types. |

I've got a serious problem : My renders get f*cked up
![]() http://picserver.org/view_image.php/...picserver.jpeg As you can see, the shadows and reflections are very bad ![]() I use 3dsmax 5.1 and brazil, with 2 directional lights, no skylight. I don't know how I can solve it, maybe some of you do ? by the way, I would really like some more constructive comments on how to improve my model and textures. Well, I solved the problems, after one day of experimenting, doing nothing, thinking, experimenting, thinking, and experimenting again
![]() The shadows were caused by the raytrace accelerator, that was set on 'high performance'. The reflection error were a strange falloff issue, I don't exactly know what...... Please give me some more (constructive) comments on how to improve my model / textures ! By the way, I think that I'll make it a scale-model scene, so I don't have to aim for complete reality, because that's one bridge too far for me at the moment. |

I really feel like talking to myself now
Please give me some comments on how to make things look better please (It must be improvable don't you think ?) For the enviroment: I changed my plans a little: It will be a minature scene on a table. By doing this I won't have to worry too much about clean textures and stuff. http://picserver.org/view_image.php/...picserver.jpeg Last edited by Pjanssen; 01-03-2004 at 09:42 AM.. |

Here's another update. This will be the scene for the model.
I'm sorry to disappoint you Blackwolf, but it will be a miniature-scene http://www.endless-dimensions.com/Images/env_test.jpg |

Wow
I haven't made a boat yet, planning to after me Porsche. This is great. I sail recreationally, and enjoy it, so you must give this baby a water scene after that interior one. It needs to have action, like a stormy background, water spraying everywhere, you know
Nice work though

Here's an improved version:
Click for a larger picture. Everybody keeps telling me that I should make an outdoor scene for it, but I've got two problems with that: -When you do that, you'll need total realism to make it convincing (or it must have a nice paint-kinda style, but I can't do that either) -To make it real in a stormy enviroment, you'll need people on the ship that sail it. I've never modelled humans before and I don't want to start it for this project... So, I'll stay with the miniature-concept..... |
