i think it looks a little boring though. its a simple deisgn yes, but maybe some sort of loading mechanism or something.
but it will probably looks better textured.
BTW wheres the mag? please dont tell me its that little thing on the side of the gun...

Looking good my fried.

If you wanted to lower the poly count further, perhaps using 3 leg mounts instead of four would be good.

Are you rendering it with GI? course with texture baking it's not a bad idea.

it wouldnt save that many pollies, and also, most MG mounts are 4 legged.

It's too round, try making it a little boxyer, might make it a little cooler.
The 3 post stand is actually prety comon when it comes to gun-mounts.

to me it doesn't look futuristic. looks like an old german mounted machine gun used in the wars.

are you making this for a game? agree with SteelViruz, make it boxier, that cylinder looks way too smothed to be lowpoly...swap the cylinder for a box then add details to the box, a blocky style with lots of details (texture and polys) is easier to recognize as futuristic...

hmmm...

I am not sure what you're going for here. It does look kind've maybe something like a great war machine gun, but it really doesn't. Then maybe I think it's like a futuristic gun that is old, if that makes sense. Like future for us, but old for the time period it is in. If it is kind've old-future then it should have a lot of detail, and look like it has been put together from spare parts from like 5 mgs. I hope this helps a bit, good modelling, needs more style. Oh and all mgs really have only like 2 legs that i have seen.
