Talking plastic material

i was wondering if any one of you now how to make a realistic plastic material (not translucent) for use it in a cell phone or a printer or a remote controll and so on............ tnks.

well...

you mean...not the transparent ones but the material used to make various things.....

well.....here's a quick tut!

choose the colour you want....then apply specular: 50 and Glossiness: 40 to it...... that'll get you the shine and apply it to the material....and if u want transperent.....leave the colour and tweak the opacity!


here u go.....ask when u need more help!

well

well.....okay....but...for the reflections on the printer....you area map shadows and light bump maps for realism...

when you use a light....dont use shadow map but area map or so on to get what u need!

still...

shadow map is more preferable.....sorry for bugging...i am getting u into complex things....first...try off with the material! good luck!

i'd put in a bump map (cellular map) since if you look properly some plastic surfaces on printers (especially the old obsolete printer like mine) the plastic is not smooth theres some texture on it..

cellular map may do it....but you must keep the size to 5 at the most.....or u can make ur own bump map.....u see..... anything is possible!
