The ball is no problem its more the textureing part that is the problem,i have the textures for the eye (Dosch Human eyes) so it shuldnt be any problems but there is.Im not that good in Uvw mapping and i have only used Unwrap Uvw once and im not sure if thats needed? Please someone/Robert

the sphere part is more important than most people think - eyes generally look pretty bad if they are just a texture mapped sphere. This tut explains how to model & texture & is about the best out there.

what i try to do is create two layer of geometry

the interior eye with its texture of color

then i create an outher layer that is my reflective layer

on that reflective layer i don't use any specular value as usually the specular bloom looks completely fake cuz its so round. what i do is create a light box or plane (usually big) with an image of something with light and dark areas and set the outer layer to be reflective of that light box. you can then tune the reflected image in photoshop to even simulate hdri without all the frills and rendertimes.

i also set this outer layer to be refractive, this is really important especially in shots when you see the eye from the side, that slight refraction does this distortion of the underlying color in a way that is much more realistic.

another thing i do is to set a reflectivity map so that as the reflective layer moves away from teh pupil and iris its reflectability is lowered so the whites reflect less and take less of a hilight

another thing you can add on top of all of this is a third level of control where by the normal angle of the faces, something like as the face's normals become more perpindicular with the cameras normal then the reflection dampens.

if you're using max its likely you'll have to tune the outer layer for shadow casting and shadow taking so that the shadows from the face, etc. will fall only on the inner color layer

good luck

-k
