Write A Tutorial - Post It Here - Get A Texture CD In Return!

How's this for a deal

We want 3DTotal to have the biggest collection of tutorials available on the net . .actually we may be already there! but we want more!!

I noticed over on CGChat that members were writing tutorials and posting them in the forums. See here http://www.cgchat.com/forum/forumdis...?s=&forumid=75

Well we want this too! and if your tutorials are good ones then we will format them and post them on 3DTotal with your credits and links or course and also we will send you 1 texture CD of your choice! (In a hope that you will write 3 tutes for the full set!)
www.3dtotal.com/textures

I must stress though the quality of your tutorial must be high (like the ones currently on 3dtotal)

<edit - they also cant be very similar to ones we already have, we dont want another max beginners primatives only robot for example!>

Looking forward to seeing what turns up!

Tom

ps ask any questions here but post any tutorials in a new thread, thanks.

pss offer is now temporarily closed until we can set it up better, see my post at end of thread

Thumbs up

Geoman, the offer remains open until further notice but rest assured it will be open for quite a while.

What we are looking for are tutorials from all departments of 3d-art: modelling, texturing, animating, rigging, you name it!

But make sure you browse our archives before you start writing - there can only be some many tutorials on modelling a low-poly gun

Looking forward to your ideas!

what a great idea Tom the forums are such a boiling pot of styles and techniques, it should be a cool way to learn some tips and tricks from each other.

I wrote my first little tutorial the other day (to help someone in the WIP section)....which i doubt was anywhere near worthy of a texture CD. Would you still be interested in seeing such a tutorial, not in exchange for a CD but just for offering some handy hints to beginners???

Hehe u sure know how to motivate well don't u guys. But I think we all agree that a tutorial should be written primarily cuz u want to share your little peice of knowlede with the rest. Have been meaning to start a few tutorials for a while now. Just one question. erm. If we have no webspace to put them in or have limited ones is it possible to submit them with fairly scaled images somewhere? And what format would u preffer submissions in8 foc, html, pdf?)

You can submit your finished tutorials to me at chris@3dtotal.com, I'll take a look at them instantly.

NOTE: Please ,don't send without warning me first, if I have my inbox blocked for an hour, IŽll see to get my own dead fish to slap the evil creature, who stuffed the inbox.

Also, we don't really require any sort of layout. The tutorial should contain a text and a fair amount of images to go with, but how you arrange them doesn't matter.
You can write your text in MS Notepad and just indicate where the images go in brackets (like: image 1 here) or so. That will do.

It is also possible to submit tutorials written in German, if you aren't capable of writing english fluently. We can translate that without trouble. Lithuanian would work too.
If you feel your English is not good enough for writing a text as complex as a tutorial (can be), let us know, we can correct finished texts or help in the process of creation.
