It's a great idea Tom.

You really have to post tutorials here so I can see them, then I can decide if they qualify for a CD, after this chris needs to have them to format them and post them on 3DTotal, so I will have a chat with him to see if he can grab them from here, to save you mailing them.

I think i can get CDs to India, it has been done sucessfully before! but I need to pay quite a lot for the more secure posting, so it is more economical for me to send 3 in one go . .so if your up for doing 3 tutorials that would be the best idea! and yes we like 2d as well as 3d

Cheers

Tom

Since 3d-artists need to have/develope skills from many fields of art, tutorials on drawing are welcome as well.
But they will only qualify for a cd, if they are useful for the 3d-artists here.

for example a tutorial on architectual or conceptual drawing, or a tutorial on drawing in perspective would be good; tutorials on painting on canvas using oil or acrylics is less good, allthough we'd still like to see them.

when writing a tutorial, concentrate on what you can do best, one great tutorial on a specific topic is better than plenty mediocre ones.

starwars, it is very nice to see that you are eager to help future beginners even at your early stage of modelling. that's very respectable (even though you are doing it for cd's )

ask yourself: what can i do best?
also you might want to try creating a tutorial about a tpic that you don't excell at because one can learn alot just by trying out how something works.

How big should the tutorials be?

Is it enough with like modelling a nose, or do you have to do the whole head or even body?

A great in-depth tutorial on modelling a single bodypart (for example a nose) can be by far longer than a rushed tutorial on modelling a whole body.

A tutorial about a nose could for exmaple explain what the human nose is structured like (anatomicaly speaking), how it compares with animal-noses. then explain one or possibly more ways of modelling such a smelling device.

The first aim here is to write tutorials that are udnerstabdable to those who read them, that you get a CD in return is a great, but don't forget the readers either, ok?

Nearly all of the tutorials we have already on 3DTotal are of the quality we are after from you guys, also if you take an average size being about 2 or 3 of our pages then that is also what we are after.

Is this ok for you PiledotNET or a bit vague?

Tom
