deleting lattice deformer in maya

I have a bit of an irritating problem in maya 5.0, i´ve used a lattice deformer to tweak some geometry, and now, i want to delete that lattice but keeping the tweaks i made, the thing is when i delete it, the geometry assumes the position it had prior to the lattice node! i´ve consulted the help files in maya and they say that you can delete the deformer but still keep the changes...my question is: how?? if someone can help me i´d most apreciate it!

I’ve had this problem too. In the documentation it says that by going to edit>delete the deformer nodes are all deleted. But, the object still has the tweak node as an input node, so any tweaks you might have made are preserved. But this doesn’t seem to work for me. I’ll experiment some more and see if I can get it. Sorry I couldn’t help more.

It’s so simple it’s stupid!

Just select the object with the lattice attached and delete its history.
