70's chase video

Sanders and I are working on a 70's cop short. I am currently rigging a character and I am having some problems. I rigged one side and it's works fine. I am now rigging the other side and I realized I screwed up and I am going to have to different rigs for mirrored arms. Is there some way to, at this point copy the rig over or delete one half and copy the bones and the polys over? Also when I copied the bones over to the other side and began rigging the other side I encounted a bizarre problem. The vertices as soon as a wieght them to let's say the left biscep bone thing they shoot over to the right biscept. What the hell. They only go half way. I am confused.

Hmmmmm....

Well John Silver I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but when it comes to rigging there really isn't an easy way to do it. Sometimes copy and paste works on the bones (and if it does consider yourself lucky) but most times you'll still have to go in and adjust each bone separately.

Are you using Character Studio? I'm assuming you are.

Also, could you clarify what you mean by mirrored arms? I hope you've got your character all attached as one object. I hope that doesn't sound condescending, but without images posted it's a bit hard to picture the problem and I don't know what level you're at.

If you've assigned vertex weights with the bones, then copy and paste may be assuming that the new vertexes are assigned to the original bone. I managed to screw up a character pretty bad in school by doing this. It hasn't happened since so I'm not sure if it was me or the software or both.

I hope this helps, I'm sure someone else will have a better solution though. I say just keep working through the problem to find the solution and you won't make it again.

no not cs, I have decided cs can lick my nuts, because it sucks. So instead I using max's standard bones and rigging system. I am also wondering, can I copy an animation sequence and then load it. Like go load walkcycle5.whatever
