Wow these treads look like a million polys.
Can you post the usual nonsmoothed wire of the whole model?

Personally i don't think you need all those polys, you might just as well use a bump texture - thus saving yourself a good deal of filesize. And filesize relates to file handling, crashes etc. This is a bump i've created to use on my tires, it's simple and effective. You may convert it to greyscale or apply a slight blur to avoid jagginess. Tile it around a tire made from a tube with a cylinder UVW gizmo.

Thanks guys.
Dan: iŽactualy think that bumpthreads look like crap, no offens!
i rather stick with a lager file than compromise with bumps, when it comes to the wheels!

kujoe: strange i dident think about that. thans man!

No offense taken, i think your treads look great. Good luck on your model. You can always use props on the side that won't be shown to the camenra.

Hey Kujoe I think he was talking about edge map, where you render your image and you get the texture and the wire showing. Its a plugin off the net. I dont know where it is, and as far as I know its only for max, I dont know what you are using or where to find it, But the car is looking awesome dude, keep up the good work.
