Ice

Hi guys,

My wip at the moment is a small artic scene. Now I have done a couple of animations with it, and decided to add some animated waves. All's good except for the ice which sometimes "floats" in mid air. So I tried adding reactor to make it float as the waves pass by...but with no success. Could anybody give me some tips?

Regards,

Peter

Well I always mean to post it, but every single time I attach it, it's too big. So I sent it to bullethead guy (member here) and he said he will post it.

Would you like to see it?

well the only thing that bother me is that some icebergs are floating in the air. if you check an iceberg, the bottom is bigger than the top (or else it turn over until the bigger part is in the water)

and it seems that you have made an iceberg and cloned it 4 times (bottom right, middle right, center, 2 left), if you want to optimize you scene, put bigger iceberg and delete some but it's my personnal opinion . (i suggest you to check ice age to see how they did their background.)

well it's your picture i won't tell you how to do it (i let your imagination work to create something you'll like) i attach a picture of some icebergs i found on google..

to optimize your scene you can separate the background from the foreground, i mean make some ice mountains with a nice sky for example, and using compositing you make the foreground in another scene and composite them together. the most simple way to optimize you scene i believe (cause when you make mountains every time it's a lot of polys to add..)

sorry for the lots of pictures
