Angry terrorists (a rant)

Well, for anybody who doesn't know anything about today's terrorist attack in Madrid, Spain (Europe), there's about 1000 wounded and at least 186 dead, the number is expected to rise as officials count the body parts.
I'll spare you the pictures, they blew up several trains in the morning rush hour, thirteen bombs in total, another three dismantled. The trains looked, well, for anybody who saw the pictures of the terrorist attack on the Metro in Moscow - that's about how they looked, just that they were torn apart instead of in one piece, since unlike in the tunnel, it actually had a place to go, the shockwave that is.

I noticed that all the terrorist attacks were in the south-east of the city. That's usually the favourite spot for Chechen terrorists as well, when they blow up Moscow. Wonder if it's got some secret meaning to the terrorists?

And it's today the 11th of March, exactly a half a year after the feared date of 11 september, may one point out.

Don't really think the ETA did it, somehow this smells too much of international terrorism, although of course the ETA can learn effective practices from their international "brothers" in arms... and legs.. and other bodyparts.

Terrorists are a plague. And the sad thing is, it seems we're soon going to have to account for them, being city-residents, as the residents of tornado alley in the US have to account for tornadoes; you never know where the next one hits, at best you can get a couple of minutes' warning, and you can spend money on extra safety measures, but if you're in the epicentre, it's not going to help.

Looks like the steam-crash-course of psychology that they're giving to the Russians right now might soon as well become a day-long programme for schoolchildren, recognizing a terrorist in the crowd... It's a sad thing really, and what our officials don't seem to realize, is that a war on terrorism, means a world war, with civilians involved just as much as any troops. But then again officials are always trying not to mention stuff that might upset the sheep herd.

To close this thing on a humoristic note, a while ago I was reading an article, on how to recognize a terrorist in the crowd. Apparently, nervousness, and going to and from the same place several times with big backpacks is one of the things you can recognize them by, well mainly the nervousness, and the writers of the article said that they're nervous because:

"Most suicide bombers do this for the first time in their life"

Unless it's a suicidebomber cat of course. Then it might have 8 times of experience.

yes I am deeply saddened by the evils of this modern world... I also hope for peace, but I fear that human nature will prevent this...
all we can do is watch our own actions and interactions with others... because hate and evil spreads like no other disease...
we must all be kind, and have heart for our fellow man, even if they view the world differently...
My best wishes go to the people of Spain right now... may you all have a safe night....

And I think terrorists are the biggest pain in the ass people can ever have!
They suck!
I wish I could be the judge and decide what to happen with the ones caught.

You don't quite get what a war with terrorists means, do you? You know, it's going to be Jihad, they're going to recruit thausands and thausands of young, fanatic people, each good for a hundred dead or so. It's not going to be a war far from home, it's not going to be a war on a battlefield, it's going to be mass slaughter in the streets, and on our land, not in Iraq.

Russia's been fighting a war with terrorism for the past 10 years or so, it's cost 250 000 people on both sides, and we're not a step closer to peace.
And since America's war on terrorism started, the number of attacks only increased it seems. Turkey, Maroc, Iraq, - they're not extreme enough for them anymore.

Put a wall around the territory from Egypt's east borders to India's and China's west borders, no one in, no one out, maybe that'll help.

As for your uncle - he's lucky you could suppose, Dutch soldiers get put in jail for using their weapons. No kidding.
It's not that they aren't allowed to shoot, that wonders me, it's that they send them there in spite of it.

Is any one else starting to wonder if future historians will say World War III began in 2001? I feel so sad about this news. It makes me less hopeful about my own future.

yes ...I'm not so hopeful for my future but I do believe that we (young generation) have the power and the ability to change the future....We live in 'democratic' states so we can avoid wrong political decisons..we can build peace....we can be politican ourselves....we got to use this power....The Spain tragedy is (sadly) a chanche to change...whatever is Eta Attack or Al Queda....

It's up to us...We need to work toghether and be more respectfull for life of evry human beings.

I recall when J.I. Terrorists bombed a noteclub in Bali and killed about 150 of my fellow australians. It hit home hard. Many people were distraught, even though they didn't know the victims, no-one could believe this could happen so close to home.
About half of a local football team was killed from Perth, which shocked the entire community.

Even my own mother, who is a nurse at Royal Perth Hospital in the burns unit, needed therapy. Personally, I want to torture and kill the ****s who brought so much trauma to my family.

But unfortunately, that makes the terrorist a martyr, and sets an example for the rest to follow.

I hate these pricks as much as anybody, but in the end...
What ya gonna do??

Go to the pub, live your life, and hope you're not next.

Its one of those things that nobody can ever stop, control, or predict. We just gotta accept it. It sucks i know, but thats just the way things are.

I would like to also express my feelings...
I am very been sorry for what is happened in Spain, another 11 September, everything this is very sad...
But I wonder me if there is an effective way to stop these "lords of the terror".
Because the "great" don't succeed in stopping this threat?
Today we are forced to cohabit with the fear... this time has paid the consequences the Spain...
and tomorrow to whom will touch?
Can we hope in a best future seriously?

Hmmm well I've been convinced for a couple of years already that we'll be fighting that 3rd world war before 1 januari 2014, and that makes us the ones who'll be fighting it.

But really, if you think about it, 99% of all the species that ever lived, died out in the course of evolution, I really don't think it's much different for civilisations, we'll die out, destroy ourselves, maybe then the dolphins will start evolving into something smart-assed or something, we'll see.
Just like in SimEarth.

(funny by the way, I was once running a simulation of SimEarth, and I had birds for sentient species, and there was STILL war in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and the Saudic region...

I seen it over here on TV too, and Im very shocked. especially when I heard that one of the dismantled bombs would´ve been strong enough to blast the whole train station to pieces. it was meant to detontate at a time when the rescue forces wouldve been at work already.

something that kinda hit me, too: the train station is called Atocha, right on the other side of the road is the hotel "mediodia", this was where I spent a class trip last year.
kinda makes you feel a lot closer to those things, what with you actually recognizing the whole scene around it.

Hmm, yeah I know what you mean, Psistorm. The night of the terrorist attack on the Dubrovka theatre I visited an other theatre myself, mom was only by sheer luck not on the site of a bombing last winter, really, only sheer luck as she was planning to be there at the dreaded hour, and remember the moscow metro bombing between avtozavodskaya and paveletskaya a couple of weeks ago? I travelled the track nearly daily for about a month, and I was at the paveletskaya train station on probably 6 occasions in the last year, one of my favourite pairs of shoes was even bought from a street vendor there.

Eventually, it's just a matter of luck.

It was sheer luck for example that on the 11th there was a student strike in Madrid, because of which most students didn't go to their universities. Imagine what they felt.
