The glass is a mental ray material, ubder surface its got a dielectric material (3dsmax)

Light Persistence is a light blue colour
IOR: 2.0
Persistence Distance: 0'1.0"
Phong Coefficient: 60

I made the walls green and prefer it but am thinking my sofas should be some other colour, cream maybe

Heh. You don't want to mix cream and white. Don't you watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? (Do you get that in the UK?)

I miss the white walls, they kept the environment integrated better. It looked good when the furniture was the only real color in the room.

Simply Stunning...

Perhaps make the couches a warm color. I dunno, beige perhaps?
And perhaps just tone down the light coming in from the outside just a fraction, so you can distinguish more detail in the entrance.

Brilliant image bro.

Wow, I see works like this and it really makes me wish I had mental Ray, or a working copy of max at all....

Top notch stuff here!

The second image you posted is the best yet.
I'll pardon you for using readymade sofas but there is some nasty artifacting behind the sofa at right.
Mental Ray?? I thought only VRay did those ethereal renderings...
In all a great scene, but - do those stairs lead to a window?

So as I see it, the most popular incarnations of this scene are plain white walls with a wooden floor. I agre that it is the most striking but do you not think its way over done?

3Dan-3DT - your the first moderator to comment on my work, I feel so proud! I'm not up with some of the lingo you've used. By artifacting do you mean the blotchy shadows? By ethereal renderings do you mean the light glow? No the stairs don't lead to a window yet, all that is modeled is seen in the scene. I'm gonna make an entire building and use other parts i've modeled and sorta coble them together. I nned to design it first though.

Thanks for the interest guys

Blotchy shadows, yes. Light glow, yes.
Is this the inside view of a floor of the modern building from your other thread?
Is the design yours? Very, ah, "Milano".
Anyway here's a fiver from us.
