Character: Human head

Hi!

Here's a model I'm been working on for a while now, I quess it's easy to see who it's supposed to be

Still working on those tricky textures, but I'm getting there..
The streching of the textures on the shoulders and neck is no big deal, going to but some clothes on her so it won't show on the final render.
The hair and eyebrow is coming soon.

Let's have some comments on the model so far

Would you mind showing a front and side shot of just her head (no hat). Have it be a front and side shot, but in perspective modeling a head in an orthographic view is just a no no. There are certain areas that I think need some tweaking, like around the eyes, but I'd like to see these other views before I say anything. Otherwise I'd say you are getting very close to have a nicely modeled head, but you just need to add a few subtle nuances.

Ok. Step back from the hat just for now. In my opinion, you have some work to do on the head before you get cracking on the finishing touches. I think overall this head is pretty good, but you need to work on certain areas. The first one is the jawline is very angular at the moment and extends too far back on the skull. The cheekbone definition is good, and the mouth, whilst being a bit big perhaps (personal opinion) is also good. The ears are placed too high and I suspect need to be moved forward a bit. Any chance of posting a simple front side and top view render, in wireframe(unsmoothed)? This will help people give you some useful critiques.

Monte made some very good points about the ear position/size and jawline shape. But I also think you need to pull some of the features of the face further back. The corner of the lips and nostrils both need to be worked back into the face more and the whole eye area should be pulled back which will in tern effect the cheek. I put the angelina jolie ref over your image and traced out her features so you could see them.

I don't entirely agree with what you guys are saying...

MonteCristo-3DT: It's correct what you are saying IF you are comparering this head to the photo you have, but I'm not modeling that girls head. Angelina's ears are that high up as you can see on the photo below..

Vertigo: I assume you used this referance picture when you made the drawings.. Look closely and see if you can see why I don't agree..
Let me give you a hint... It has something to do with the camera angle..
If I followed this picture 100% the head would look very bad..

yes, I did notice the angle of the camera and her head. But I still believe the features need to be pulled back on the model. Not so much to match the photo, but just to be correct and believable. Since the photo isn't a perfect side shot, you'll have to adjust you model accordingly, but as it is the features do need to be pulled back. But of course its entirely up to you. These are just my suggestions.

Ok, then let's assume that the ear size is correct for a moment. I have overlayed your model onto the angelina reference pic, and have scaled the render to line up the ear. Notice what happens: the mouth and the nose and chin are all lower now. Also one thing to be wary of is that the reference picture has angelina's head pointed down a little bit but it's quite subtle. As Vertigo says, the facial detail need to come in a bit. Also, it looks as the the forehead needs to be higher and the skull shape adjusted a bit (allowing for the hair of course.).
