Brings back good memories i tell ya.
heeehaaaa! Would you be a dear and post 1600x1200 on a gray background so i could use it as my desktop picture? And take off the reflective floor, for some reasone the car doesn't look as tough if its sitting on such a clean floor. |

Yep, a smiley. SO WHAT!?

no no no, that´s the General Lee, fer chrissakes!, it has to be dirty!
Not mud, just a thin layer of dirt all over the car, that would look just sweet.

How about placing chrome moldings? I think that would add up to the old car model look. But man it looks really good already.

Nice model, but I think the paint looks a little harsh and the decals are fuzzy. Maybe you could make then with a larger resolution?

Hi guys, thanks for the input. These new screens are for Mr 4ever, who requested these big ass desktop sizes 1600*1200. Goig, how would I do the dust, is there a plug-in shader, or do I create a procedural?
Any way i'd like to call this complete and move onto my new car, its a mclaren f1 Gulf gtr, I've already modelled it, but I'm having a texture week. The model is on my web site, if you can't wait, I'll show the finished gulf version soon. |

It’s a nice model, but its shape doesn’t look like the general lee that I remember did. I did a quick search to check my memory wasn’t playing tricks on me and found this page:
http://members.lycos.nl/dodge/clemon.htm Although you have most of the details, decals etc right. There are problems with the overall shape of the car. It seems too narrow, the roof is too low, the sides of the car should be more bulbous, the rear suspension should be jacked up etc.

A The hinge edge of the doors should be curved
B You have this angle in your model, but its not pronounced enough C & D The relationship between these 2 measurements on your model is wrong and makes the roof look very low. Remember the general Lees doors did not open, Bow and Luke had to enter via the windows. If you lower the roof from the original design this isn’t going to be easy. E As I said previously the sides of the car are not bulbous enough. On your model there seem to be 3 distinct planes. Looking at the reference pics we can see these same planes although they are more like subtle curves. The planes on your model are not in the same places as in the ref pics. If you look at the highest of the planes, in the ref pics this plane seems to end about the level of the bumpers/fenders and runs the entire length of the car. On your model it seems to end much higher. This results in a much larger (central) vertical plane along the side of the car making it look more boxy than it should Further to this, in the ref pics the distinct planes almost completely disappear as they pass the wheel arches, but on your model they are prominent throughout the entire length of the car. F This area is much too angular on your model. Its much smoother in the ref pics and part of the body between the sides and roof section should be more of an angle. ATM, its almost horizontal in your model.
