Batman....

Hello everybody,

This is my first character, done without any reference (tweaking and tweaking and tweaking ....) in Maya 5.0.

Still work to do around the mouth...

Greets..

The idea was to take the warner's cartoon Batman and give it a "The Incredibles" look.
Any suggestion?

I said "the idea" was to take the WB's batman.
What came out is this. Isn't WB's, isn't going to be realistic, but I don't dislike it.

Okay, great job, my first thought was: "Hey, that looks like Mr. Incredible".

But some things are bugging me:

The ears: They're quite off right now. The eyebrows would need a little, only a tiny little more volume. The shape of the head is, in my opinion, too spherish. The front profile looks too boring.

It could be really cool, with a little work here and there... Keep it up, wanna see facial expressions til end of the week! GO GO GO! ;-)

Nappa:

Don't worry, I haven't got mad at all.

Thomas:

Could you be a little more specific? What do you mean with "ears are quite off"? Where should I move or resize them?
How could I make the front profile less boring in your opinion?

Thanks guys...

Its looking good. But I think its missing that elusive charming quality thats so hard to place. I think you can bring the chin back inwards, and still get that big chin feel. You could even try to widen the whole chin/lower jaw and see how that looks. I think this could be very good. I love 3D cartoons and I hope to keep working on this one until the character design is just perfect. Keep at it.

Update.

Here's an update.

The eyebrows have more volume.
The ears are longer and they moved inwards.
I moved the chin inwards and now is also more hard edged, I also enlarged the low jaw.
The head is less spherical. I corrected a small difect in the nouse area.

Waiting for your comments..

Greets..
