Underwater gorge
I tried to create a nice underwater look (it's not supposed to be photorealistic). Did I get it?
(made with Cinema 4D 8.2, some postwork in Photoshop) |

i think it looks really good. are you just trying to learn how to do the underwater effect, or is this actually a scene you are trying to make good? if this is going to end up being a rendered scene i think you should put a little more work into the fish because they look a bit stiff. I definitely feel like the scene is underwater. But there is something not quite right about it, I can't put my finger on it. I think it may have to do with the lighting, perhaps if I could see the underside of the water level my brain would be more convinced. also, I cannot tell if you meant to have water droplets on an underwater camera, or bubbles floating to the surface.

Some good advice here!
I really like that, and I made a rare outing from the Inorganic forum to say so! I think that the camera angle is really good - a nice sense of depth. Keep at it, and soon you'll have your own ocean to tinker with ![]()

"Water acts as a selective filter. If one were to suspend a white light above the surface of a tank of water that was 1000' deep, the colors from the white light would be filtered out selectively one-by-one. It is gradual. There is no abrupt interface. For example, most of the red is gone from the light after 10 feet. Some of the orange is gone. Less of the yellow is lost, etc. At 25' most of the orange is gone. At 35' most of the yellow is gone. This continues through the spectrum until all that is left is violet light and that fades out after hundreds of feet. So, at the bottom of this 1000' tank of water there would be little or no light!"
I think the light should be coming out radially to a small degree also...i think that is what was looking odd to me
