Rigging Help
Ok well I fixed my other problems just to run into another. I have a human figure and I have the arms on seperate sets than the fingers, as in the parent of the arm is not the parent bone of the fingers. Maybee thats where I went wrong but I think there must be some way to still have things work. I want the fingers to move with the arm when it moves and still allow the fingers to be animated alone also. (EX: i want to move the arm and the hand goes with it but I also want to be able to move the fingers once the arm is moved) My problem is when I link the finger bones to the hand bone or the hand helper (ive tried both) Either the fingers wont move by themselves when I move their IK chains or the bones get all distorted once they are linked. Could some one PLEASE help? here is a screen shot to show you whats up.

I donīt know why you set your bones up like that; is there a good reason for using end effectors at the fingertips? seems that animation would be very cumbersome; I would gave used custom attributes wired to sliders for that, it works wonderfuly; see the example I made in the attached file.
Edit: I donīt know why I called that file "Custom Attributes", I did it several months ago, anyway; it should be named Wired parameters or something, because thatīs the beef of the scene, I wired the "One" X rotation to the "Two" X rotation multiplied per 1.5, and the "Three" X rotation multiplied per 2, so for Y degrees of rotation the second link rotates Y*1.5 and the third rotates y*2; thatīs why the chain moves as it does. Just open the Parameter Wire Dialog in the Animation menu.

One thing i've learned.
One thing that I eventually learned. It makes it a whole lot easier. If you make your Bones about the same size as your mesh. This way you don't have to mess with verts to much.
First time , I rigged my character, I made the bones to skinny. That was a pain in the ass trying to rig. Cyrenn Wip http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread...5&pagenumber=6

Something else
Thanks guys for your help. I was looking through some tutorials and stuff and i found something that helped me, I used this thing to connect the fingers to the wrist and now I dont have that problem with moving it anymore but now when I move the hand the farther I move it the farther the help boxes on the fingers get, lets say i move it 10 spaces the sliders follow but only move like 8 and the more i move the farther they are, what can I do for that?
