I just finished (sort of) this scene. I’m quite pleased with it, however it does still have a obvious cgi look. I think this may be to do with the wall texture, but i have no idea how to make it look more realistic. Any suggestions?
I also found this shape hard to map correctly as well, why is that, the roof is all streched, thats why its dark, lol! |

Hi Handy Andy
Your texture on the wall, is it supposed to be a tile of a kind? You may want to map it cylindrically either on you z or x plane depending how you created it. Then I would say you need a spec map and bump map too to bring them out more, is this that walkway tunnel at Kings Cross Thameslink station leading to the underground? As for your lights it looks as tough you've got only one in there. Why not put in some spot or point lights near the ceiling and adjust their intensity and fall off so you get some nice atmosphere and ambience!! Hope this helps Jango |

i'd say it's not the wall texture, it's all textures. the rail tex is too simple, the floor and wall tex is too repeating. on every edge of the wall must be grout. you can't bend tiles. jango is right, try cylindrical mapping for the walls.
btw: i'm not a pro ![]()

yeah...
the wall looks too segmented because of the tiles.....one morething......the floor looks a bit worked on and stressed...the wall is something just likea simple thing....add a bit of variation to that to show signs of life there

Think DIRT!
Try adding: smears, pebbles, litters, spider webs, whatever. Just try to make it look used. This helps make it more beliveable. |
