organic- tree villager
hello im new here and love some of the work thats been done here so i though i would ask you guys for some c&c. Im doing this project for my highschool animation class and the concept is there is a gaint tree, like the tree of all tree's and in it is a village of tree folk, and this is a render of one of first tree fold and i am new to uvw unwrap and cant get the wood texture just right, and i feel the moss on the trunk is to think and blochy, ( the moss is done with particals ) so what i am asking for is some advice on improvement and mostly isues with the texturing and moss ty.

hey not bad !!!! Looks lçike an old rpg kind of char maybe with some more toony texture it could do it better!
One or tow things thoug I think you could try to add detail on the torso get the hand less flat and the arm could use more definition too .It's already is a good char ! |

Looks good. I especially like the eyes and arms. Sorry I can't really give you any texturing advice because I am also new to 3ds Max.

I think the moss looks great as it is. If anything, the only crits I'd have would be to lose the glow from the eyes as that particular effect is very overdone & detracts from the quality of the model & maybe think about redesigning the head because at the moment it looks like some sort of ninja tree, which doesn't seem to suit it. If it were my model, I'd go for a tree with visable features & maybe a branch or two coming out of his head, but that's just a suggestion. I really like the arms too.
