the legs should be thicker in my opinion. they look like they wouldn't support him while he's digging with those massive claws. other than that, awesome job.

yeah I really like it.... I know what people are talking about when they say the back legs/tail could help balance out but when I looked at it I could imagine it planting its head onto the ground and using that as its main point of contact... then clawing out dirt alternating with each arm...
cool work! |

actually looking at it again I could see it using the points of his claws to walk... like a gorilla... maybe swinging its back legs through .... hmmm

First off thanks for all the replies. I'm going to use some of the sugestion on the model. so good ideas all around. thanks guys!
But i may not be able to get back to this guy for a while. some other projects i want to work on. I'll post some new stuff as soon as i can. thanks agian. c0nspire - thanks man Ultimate Ronnie- good point. the balance isn't where I really want it. i think when i get to modeling i will bring the legs more in balance. Nappa- really good idea. i think i will give him a tail see how it looks. good one man. Ragnar-thankss you kinda got it. he would dig with alternating arms. but not the head. but still i'm kinda flirting with the idea of a tail. geoMan - thanks man. i'm probably going to make a tail for him. and the tail will have some horns. ![]() DanielB- thanks for the kind words bro! Cheers -ed-

I think a tail would be an interesting addition. It would solve his balance problems well. However, it might be a bit cumbersome to lug around in a small work environment, and tails are usually fairly sensitive (in case a rock fell on it or something).
The balance doesn't seem like it would be as bad if the hind legs were like those in the first concept posted. If I think of any really good ideas for the hind legs or the balance, I'll post.

hmm...
well...i am actually a physx freak so let me add some technical stuff...
u see the creature apparently rests on the rear legs....making it a pivot for him...and the centre of mass is his big chest....so, the anticlockwise tourque is big and their is n clockwise torque.....no mass on the other side..... in this position, the creature is likely to stay down forever.....be low....and moreover....might possible fall while running...unless u reduc weight from the chest.... with a tail...he will be balanced...he'll get an extra weapon...he wont be able to run like a gorilla actaully.... but i tail wud suit... his butt is really small... i know this was all useless ![]()

Yes its very nice indeed. 2 quick questions though: Do u use morph targets to open and close the mouth? And are the teeth linked to the model or are they part of the mesh? Thanks.

thanks guys for the replies.well the more i look at this guy the more i don't like it. so we'll see.
LittleFish - ya it could be cumbersome havin a tail in that enviroment. But if the tail was covered in like a rock crust it could be a better fit. geoMan - some good info. never useless my man. jayf- i did use morphs for the opening of the mouth. and the teeth are part of the mesh. ![]()
