Living on the cheap!

Gidday gidday =) I'm in the process of moving into a flat by myself, so my rent is about to go up. I'm also paying off my computer, and I'm about to take out a loan to buy 3dsmax (it's not tool big a loan- I have some of the money saved already). On top of that, exactly half my weekly wage goes towards hiring a plane to go flying once or twice a week (building up hours towards a commercial pilot's licence).

So! I need every possible tip for living on the cheap! How do all you starving artists get by without...eh...starving? =P

Cheers-
Wishkah

If I haven't been flying for more than a week or so, I get all tense and edgy and irritable. Longer than that, I start twitching and chewing on things. I'm addicted =P

To get a student version of Max, I'd have to be a student. No such luck =P

Bread and butter sounds like the plan, then. *grin*

well take it from me, it's a big adjustment, I went from not paying for food or rent to paying everything and paying for university...

first of all, flying, are you nuts? Scratch that... As for buying expensive software, well, if you really want it, but make sure you can pay at least the minimum montly payments.

For food, I allow myself 200 a month. From that, 50 is a big bucket of mega mass protein, so 2 shakes a day for 1 month. And for regular food, roughly 40$ a week for milk/meat/vegetables/fruit and stuff.

As for going out, having fun... that's where it hurts, gotta try to incorporate it in the budget, lol

ps. oh yeah, for rent, a roomate is always good, 1/2 or everything you know

If he wasn't nuts, he wouldn't be human... ...

Save up some money before getting Max. Pay off everything else first. Have a big stash of cash hidden away somewhere. And each week, I try to keep my account balance above a certain figure. And don't buy dvds or stuff like that for a while. Have 50 quid/dollars/wotever currency you use for food...

No idea if it works or not tho. I still live with my rents.

Budget..budget...budget.... your money! In short, do the math and write it down! Set your priorities and if there is room for eating in there... great.

Wait till ya have to pay the rent, all the other bills and raise 4 kids.

imo..flying is for the birds
