mr demon,
I considered doing a challenge at a set time but then we have the problem that not everyone will be able to enter as we all live in different time zones, what suits me as the person setting the challenge may be totally unsuitable for someone on the other side of the world who wishes to enter. It's a fun challenge and the prizes we are offering are nice but not really worth cheating for. Besides, if somebody cheats, who are they cheating? This is designed as a "real world" modelling challenge, think about it, a client calls you and says can you do me a model of ******* in an hour as I need to show it to somebody? In that scenario there is no cheating, you either do it or fail ![]() We are trying to give people a chance to organise their workflow, improve their modelling skills and have a little fun along the way. By not setting exact times when these challenges will be held obviously relies on people being honest but we feel that's part of the fun and as someone else has already said, we will be pretty quick to spot models that folks have spent 2 days working on ![]() Andy |

I remember that game as an Amiga game - in fact I've still got a copy somewhere and an amiga to play it on - it was a variation on marble madness - now how many hours did i waste playing that game? ![]() Andy |

its not very good, not even close to the standard u guys are doing, but was fun
(until i noticed one of my booleans had foobed costing me about 5-6 minutes work :/). i'm not very quick at max at the best of times, i know a grand total of 0 shortcut keys lol but, heres my go, wont win, but a nice idea for a comp ![]() Time: Modelling 40 minutes Textureing: 2 Minutes (max materials baby! ) Render: 2 secsedit: theres actualyl 3 different metal textures there, but the way i put the light and the camera kinda makes the blue look untextured lol Last edited by goronking; 20-06-2004 at 05:05 AM.. |
