Talking Cargo ship wip

hi all! I've been doing 3d for some years, but on a abstract-"shards"-techno basis ( i'm lazy ). I know some things about 3d max, but when it comes to something realistic, i really suck.

I 'm trying to make this "cargo-ship", and i'm getting a mess when it comes to detailing. I hope you can give me some hints on this.
see those errors ? i know i must use the most quads as possible, i'm trying to stick to that rule, but i get a real mess in there. any clues?

I would apreciate any feeedback.
