Camera path problems.
Hi all,
Any advice would be appreciated on this one. We are trying to produce a fly though in work, (This is a relatively new thing for us so we want to get it right) We have scene with a few houses and trees, the camera "Drives" down the road and turns a corner, Following a spline and we also tried just animating the camera. However, some of the textures on fences flash on certain frames. I think this could be lighting but not completely sure. The camera also seems to Jitter when it travels down the road. I will try and get a short video made to demonstrate this. I think the main question is what are the preferred methods of animating a camera path? (The scene is rendered on a render farm of about 10-15 PC's and the images are then compiled to make an Mpeg 1 video) Software used is Viz 4 and Adobe Prem. Brin. |

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, We have solved the flashing texture, it was a problem with the lighting and texture at cetain angles. We cant produce a small enough video to post here, i will post again. when we get a vid sorted. Thanks for the reply Martimus. Brin |

A further note to this problem...
we have discovered that this flashing is caused by rendering on computers with different specs! We where using about 10 pcs, 7 of them where the same spec (P3 900Mhz), one was a P3 800 and one was a P4 1400 Mhz. The lighting modeling and texturing where done on the P4 then rendered on the network, When my second post was made we only used on pc after the modifications to lighting and textures. We are still getting the Jittering but I think this must be due to the camera or camera path. We are using a free camera folowing a path. Would it help if a target camera was used and have the target and the camera follow the same path? I have a video of this, which I will post tonight when I get home. |
