Wink cartoonish animation (a little bit sadistic)

hi peepz, long time since my last post. i've just finished a small
animation (made in a real hurry) for the intro of the DVD showreel
of the company i'm working in.

this is nothing special, i just tried to give the character a cartoonish
attitude, too bad that i didn't have much time for this
one cause now that i'm seeing it i want to change many stuff. the
most annoying is the chains holding the submenu (not animated).

well, i hope you'll give some me c&c
(be rude)

i reallyliked it, a very cool idea for a menu.

your right though, if the chains were animated even slightly it would look so professional.

I agree, you clearly have an understanding of character rigging so doing the chain shouldn't be a problem.

Great work

I like the concept, just some more free-time like you said and it will look great. One thing that's bothering me are the menu-options. I really hate there look. I dunno if you're gonna change them, but please do so. I mean, you can't read the words really well, you can read them, but not in one glimps. I don't really like the material on the buttons either, but that's just my opinion and taste of course. I assume they're some sort of metal or bronze? It might be a cool idea to have the words carved into the plates instead of just dropped on it. You could do some highlighting effect when you roll-over them something like that. Anyhew, I really like the concept, keep it up!

Thumbs up

thanks for the comments sarN & shiroii

shiroii: yeah i guess you're right about the difficulty in reading
the buttons, but as you said, because of the highlight when you
select the button you can see clearly what this is about.
as I said before i unfortunately didn't have the time i needed to
make it as i wanted to, but as soon as i can i'll animate those
chains just to be quite happy about this whole little anim

thanx again for the answers I really appreciate

Hmmm, I'd say you should get enough time to make it perfect. It's a demo-reel, the start menu of the demo-reel. If you start with an animation you had to make quickly, naaa, it could leave a bad impression if it's easy to discover any mistakes due the time limit.
