speed modelling challenge week 16 - fridge
speed modelling challenge week 16
The "rules" are simple, 1, Each week we'll post a subject for you to model along with a time limit on how long you should spend on it. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what we have asked for. 2, spend no longer than the specified time on the modelling stages then render the image. 3, Post the image here along with your details, software used, time spent etc. Please post only one image per entry with a maximum file size of 100k and with the maximum dimensions of 800x600. This image should include at least one wire frame view of your finished model. Posts with multiple renders of the same object will be deleted. 4, time spent on rendering or texturing is not included in the alocated period to allow those with slower machines to participate on an even playing field. What we are looking for is the quality of the models you can produce "under pressure" 5, if your model is not complete, you can still post as long as it's recognizeable 6, no cheating, we are relying on your honesty here and the idea of speed modelling is to simulate a "real world" environment. If you are working on a project and asked to show a concept model you'll need to be able to get somewhere near the target in the allocated time. Your submission should be a model created especially for this challenge and not one you have stored on your hard drive. 7, No limit to the number of entries each person is allowed as long as each one is a completely new model and not one that utilises bits of previous entries 8, No external links to pictures, they must be attached using the browse button and be no larger than 800x600 pixels and 100k. Any pictures larger than this or links will be removed as soon as we see them and the poster will be disqualified immediately prizes of a 3D Total texture CDs to the best entrants. We'll judge it to avoid the voting process getting too complicated and winners will be notified by email. so, here we go, with this week's challenge deadline - 22.00 GMT Wednesday 6th October 2004 modelling time - 60 minutes subject "fridge/refrigerator/cooler" your inspiration can come from anywhere, the huge kelvinators from the 1950s to ultra modern designs I'll add my contribution later in the week, but the time is based on a 50 minute model I have done today for a client (which for the time being is covered by an NDA )Andy |

The model I am going to post will be the one my client doesn't want - sadly I just haven't had the time to do any "fun" modelling today so you'll just have to wait - let's see who is the first to get one posted - Orkron or the Bully?

First one!
Modeled, textured, and rendered all in 34 minutes. Just modeling took 19 minutes. I'll make a better one later if I have time. |

Most of all the wireframes I see are no use what-so-ever. Cant you guys put Wire Mode on in a Viewport, maximize it and take a screendump please? And dont have Mesh-Smooth on when you do it. The Raw Wires are a lot better.
